W.C. Abney PTA is glad to accept your personal check. Checks are processed thru Checktrack. If your check is dishonored for any reason Checktrack will electronically debit your account for the amount of the check plus a processing fee of $30.00.

Membership Meetings

Students whose parents take an active role in their learning have an undeniable advantage. Thirty-five years of research and more than 100 years of practice prove beyond a doubt that parent involvement increases student success. One way for parents to stay informed and to keep up-to-date with events at W.C. Abney is by attending PTA membership meetings. Each of our five membership meetings begins promptly at 7:00 p.m. and is held in the gymnasium.

Our meetings are structured to be informative and to provide parents with a picture of what our children are doing at school. Not only do they provide face-to-face contact between members, but the meetings also give focused energy to a specific topic, issue, or project. At every meeting, we provide parents with a printed copy of: the agenda, minutes of the previous meeting, and a treasurer’s report. This saves time at the meeting (because we would otherwise have to spend valuable meeting time reading the minutes and treasurer’s report aloud) and it also provides our members with a permanent copy of this important information. We get the students involved in our meetings by having them present a meaningful program.
